EECU offers Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Cards, which provide members with 24-hour access to cash and allow you to make deposits, withdrawals, balance inquiries and transfer funds within accounts at more than 28,000 ATMs nationwide. With an EECU ATM Card, you receive unlimited free transactions when you use our Credit Union ATMs or any participating CO-OP Network ATM.

ATM & Check Card

The EECU VISA® ATM & Check Card is one powerful tool of convenience. In fact, it works like a check - only better! You can use your ATM & Check Card to pay for goods and services everywhere that VISA® debit cards are accepted - restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. Simply give your card to the merchant as you would any credit card and sign the receipt. The big difference? There's no credit involved! No interest charges. No monthly bills. Nothing to re-pay. The amount of your purchase is deducted electronically from your Credit Union Checking Account. Let the card that does it all make life a little easier for you!

VISA® ATM & Check Card – Using Credit vs. Debit
The next time you swipe your EECU ATM & Check Card at a Point-of-Sale (POS) register, you will be asked if you prefer credit or debit. The following information will help you see why choosing credit may be to your advantage.

Credit

• For security, no PIN number is required – only a signature
• You may have the right to have disputed charges removed from your account
• Fund availability is based on your balance and overdraft sources
• With Advantage Checking, you may earn 2-3 more days in dividends because the funds are not withdrawn until the charge actually is received by the Credit Union

Debit

• Requires you to enter a PIN number
• No charge back rights on disputes
• Fund availability is based only on your daily withdrawal limit and overdraft sources
• The amount of the transaction is debited from your Checking Account at the time of purchase

Choosing credit also means less merchant fees for your Credit Union, which translates into higher dividend rates and lower loan rates for all members. So, the next time you’re at check out, consider choosing credit when using your EECU ATM & Check Card.
